Beginners’ Courses


Courses run for 4 weeks and are 2 hours each running from 2pm till 4pm Saturday afternoons. All 4 weeks must be attended. The cost of the course is £45.

Our Beginner Courses are designed to teach participants the Safety Rules and Etiquette of the Sport of Archery. You will be introduced to basic equipment used in Archery, including different bow types and other forms of Archery, as well as Target Archery. Practically, you will be taught how to hit a target at various distances. Our Club range has target distances up to 100 yards, and 90 metres. Target Archery and rules of shooting will be explained as well as the scoring systems used. There will be an introduction to the different rounds shot in Target Archery. Advice on the selection of equipment will be given, for anyone who wishes to take up the sport. On successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate confirming you have completed a beginners’ Course in Target Archery.

252 Scheme


The 252 scheme is open to all P.A.C. Members.
The object of the scheme is to encourage Achers to work on their technique and increase confidence in their ability to score consistently at different distances. The distances shot will be 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 80 yards.

Different colour badges will be available for each distance achieved.
